My chiropractic doctor offered personal injuries rehabilitation treatment for my neck pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain and more. My chiropractic doctor is trained to diagnosis the different types of neck conditions and to then recommend specific injury rehabilitation treatment approaches for those conditions including personal injuries rehabilitation. Through manipulation, which is the active, hands-on technique, he will help return motion to your spine. My chiropractic doctor’s goal is to return his personal injuries rehabilitation patients back to normal spinal mechanics along with relaxing muscles without pain.
My chiropractor is trained to evaluate your entire spine for injury rehabilitation. This injury rehabilitation evaluation will include your neck, mid back and the lower back. It is important to remember that just because your neck is hurting, that neck pain may be coming from somewhere else along your spine.
My chiropractor will determine areas of restriction in your joints, the possibility of disc injury, muscle spasms, and potential ligament injuries. These diagnostic tests will be performed through motion and static palpation, or more commonly known as examination by touch. By feeling for tenderness, tightness, and how well each spinal joint moves my chiropractic doctor will be able to determine a course of chiropractic rehabilitation measures to restore your back to optimal spinal health.
Don’t be surprised if my chiropractor analyzes how you walk and also look at your overall posture and spinal alignment. These details will help him understand your body mechanics and how well your spine is working and moving.

There are treatments that have not been “scientifically” proven as effective for whiplash that you might want to ask my chiropractor if you can do them at home. Some people use over the counter drugs like Motrin or Aleve combined with low impact exercises, physical rehab, manual massage therapy, heat & ice, and ultrasound. Just ask my chiropractor before using them as they may have been helpful for other patients but unwise for you.
My chiropractor encourages early movement instead of immobilization for your chiropractic rehabilitation. It might be the last thing you want to do when you get hurt, it was the last thing I wanted to do, but I believe he was right. And I didn’t like using ice, but it worked too. Ice may be applied for the first 24 hours, followed by gentle active movement.
