Sports for People Who Tend to Have Back Pain and Back Problems

When you are burdened with back pain, you may fear you cannot possibly be involved in sports or you will add to the back problems. This is not necessarily the case. There are sports that you can enjoy anyway, and not just as an onlooker. Some of the choices include swimming, weightlifter squats, running and even golf as there is a device to place on the tee to prevent having to bend over. As in golf you may need an extra device when engaging in these certain sports. With weightlifting you should don a belt if you are using larger weights on your barbells.

Sports and Back Pain and Back Problems

Swimming is a very good sport to engage in if you tend toward back pain especially in your lower back. Swimming generally reduces back stress or back strain on joints as it stretches and strengthens your muscles all over, and if you work your feet and thighs as you swim, you will be relieving your lower back of its supposition toward back pain. Another idea is skating, if you practice form, make sure your skates fit perfectly and only do it for short bursts of time; you may be able to pull it off with no back problems especially in your lower back.

Back Stress or Back Strain and Back Pain

Running is a sport that you may think of as only an exercise, and, it is okay to do when you suffer with back problems. Running helps you improve your posture especially in your lower back, strengthen the muscles in your legs and improve your breathing skills. You can find a nice park and run or jog/run as a way to take in the scenery and as a way to get out of the house and get active even if you suffer from back problems. It may even reduce the reappearance of your bad back strain especially if you choose a running regime that is done on a regular basis including your lower back.

Sports Back Pain, Back Stress or Back Strain

Many styles of dancing can be enjoyed without any trauma to the back that might result in back pain, and, some dance gurus actually have dance moves choreographed that reduce back pain. Unless you are competing in a dance contest you can enjoy the music and the dancing without having to worry a bit about your back paying for it with back pain. Obviously light footed dancing, line dancing, square dancing, free form dancing that does not include jumping or twisting and slow dancing are what the point is here, you can’t twist and flip and expect not to traumatize your back unless you are a trained athlete.

Sports Back Stress or Back Strain and Back Pain

You might enjoy archery as a way to get off the couch and catch some sports activity. Archery is not as grueling of a sport as many others, but is an interesting activity that will give you a little exercise and a little challenge especially in your lower back. Be sure to use the proper techniques to help in minimizing back stress or back strain and also to improve the percentage of the time you hit your target well. To enjoy archery you should first engage yourself in some strength training, this gets your arms and shoulders ready and increases your pleasure as it lowers the chance of back stress or back strain.

Back Problems with Sports causing Back Pain

In general low impact sports like golf, archery, pool or billiards, swimming and rafting (in mild waters) won’t be major back problems. Some maybe unlikely sports’ possibilities include belly dance and Karate or Tae Kwon Do. If you train for these you will be engaging your body in a manner that will flex up your legs and your back which rarely causes back pain or back problems.
